OUR HOME IN UXBRIDGE, MASSACHUSETTS

Vacation home exchange link...

Helpful links for those visiting
New England...

Here listed are but a few of MANY nearby historical sites and popular area attractions...

Greetings fellow home exchanger.  We are Bob & Peg Haigis.  The photos in the right column are of our home. We are experienced exchangers, having exchanged over 40 times in the U.S. and abroad. Our home is not open to pets, and small children; smoking is not permitted inside.  You can also access us on the HomeLink web site by going to: "special searches, key word search," then enter US12351. You will need your password to do this.

webbuttonblue2.gif (1043 bytes)Ideal location. The house is located in a quiet residential and wooded area, approximately two miles from the town center.
As far as location on the East Coast of the U.S., our place couldn't be more centrally located.  Boston, Providence R.I., Hartford Conn. are all within an hour or so drive. Public transportation to get to New York and Boston is available near by.
The Berkshires of Western Mass. and the White Mountains of New Hampshire are only a few hours away by car, as are the Green Mountains of Vermont.
Of course many choose the North Shore area of Mass. as a destination for viewing historic places and whale watching (also available from Boston and Cape Cod).
For the ambitious, Canada is about a 5 hour drive. Of course Cape Cod and the Islands are only an hour or so away, as are the lovely beaches of Rhode Island
for exploring historic New England.
We are located approximately 45 miles from Boston, 15 mi. from Providence Rhode Island, 200 mi. from New York, and 50 mi. from Cape Cod. Uxbridge is a small community, having a town center typical of New England.
You will find a supermarket, library, 3 banks and several restaurants. Dentists, pharmacy, wine store, a medical facility, small boutiques and gas stations to provide you with all necessities.
Additionally, we are lucky to be strategically located and have access to state Rte. 146 which connects Worcester and Providence, Rte. 122 for local trips, and Rte 16 that provides fairly quick access to the metro Milford area. From there you can access I-495 and I-90. Rail service to Boston is 25 min. away in Franklin.

webbuttonblue2.gif (1043 bytes)Our home.  Our Georgian split-level home was built around ’87, having 8 finished rooms, one & a half baths. In the years we have owned it (ten) we have finished the ground level area adding a family room, game room featuring an antique pool table, laundry area, and a half bath.
In 2002 we added a 24’X30’ 2-1/2 stall garage with a family/study area above, bringing the total living area to around 2000 sq. Feet. We also converted the original one car garage under, to a workshop.
For exchange purposes, the house now sleeps four or five comfortably.
The house is fully equipped and amply stocked for your living comfort. Should you desire to eat in, the kitchen cabinets are well stocked and all needed appliances are provided, (including crock pot, blender, toaster and microwave).
There are several changes of bed linens for your convenience, as well as a washer and dryer. Laundry detergent is supplied.
There are bathrobes we keep especially for guests that just pop in the washer/dryer and are clean again.

webbuttonblue2.gif (1043 bytes)Vehicle swap.  For those we exchange cars with, we currently offer a '99 Toyota Camry.  We discourage taking the car into Boston or New York for many reasons, especially as public transportation is available.

webbuttonblue2.gif (1043 bytes)Attractions.  There are many attractions within a few hours drive, or less, from the house, which include:  Old Sturbridge Village; Mystic Seaport; Roger Williams Park and Zoo; Lowell National Parks; Edaville Rail Road; Plimouth Plantation; Southwick Zoo (ten minutes from the house); Providence canal park; cultural attractions in Boston, Providence and Hartford, Connecticut; sports all year round; Blackstone Heritage Corridor; The White Mountains in New Hampshire and the Green Mountains in Vermont are a couple of hours away; and much, much more.
